The topic - diaspora literature - I didn't find so interesting, but the material was well and highly organized. MiTzad Taharas HaMachshava, avoid Rushdie like the plague, and try to find a guide through Jazz. Professor Stewart will be more than happy to warn you about anything inappropriate in a book, but I don't think she has the same definition of appropriate (not LeHachis, she's a very nice and sincere person, it's just a different wavelength), so don't put too much weight on that. Oh, and your knowledge of post-modernism and post-colonialism will grow, but I'm not sure about anything else... But it's very fun and relaxed.
