06/21/2007 | 1932H - Freshman Honors Seminar II | | 4.8 | 5 | 4 | 5 | 5 | Yes | Very laid back, both in terms of discussions and deadlines. The topic - diaspora literature - I didn't find so interesting, but the material was well and highly organized. MiTzad Taharas HaMachshava, avoid Rushdie like the plague, and try to find a guide through Jazz. Professor Stewart will be more than happy to warn you about anything inappropriate in a book, but I don't think she has the same definition of appropriate (not LeHachis, she's a very nice and sincere person, it's just a different wavelength), so don't put too much weight on that. Oh, and your knowledge of post-modernism and post-colonialism will grow, but I'm not sure about anything else... But it's very fun and relaxed. | |
