08/20/2007 | 2612 - American Literature: 1865 to the Present | | 3.8 | 4 | 3 | 4 | 4 | Yes | Professor Smith is a pretty good professor who knows the material fairly well. Class consists of reading short passages from the assigned reading (which, at least a summer semester, was 50-100 pages a night [regular semester is probably different]) and discussing their meaning as well as forming into groups to discuss topics distributed in class. Her biggest flaw is that she is extremely sensitive, by this I mean that you CANNOT criticize, complain, or joke around in class without suffering consequences. Furthermore her sensitivity occasionally gets to the point where you cannot even argue what the significance of certain literary points are without bringing her "I'm the teacher and have a PhD and hence am right" wrath upon yourself. Recommended with caution. [ 2/2 people found this rating helpful. ] | |
