01/07/2007 | 1300 - Introduction to Computer Science and Programming | | 4.0 | 4 | 4 | 3 | 5 | Yes | One of the best courses I have taken in YU. Great teacher. Great course. You will know the stuff. His tests are out of 130, or 170. And he is a fair grader. Take the course. You will enjoy!! | |
12/21/2006 | 1300 - Introduction to Computer Science and Programming | | 4.0 | 4 | 4 | 3 | 5 | Yes | Prof. Waxman is really an amazing teacher and it's a shame that Yeshiva University doesn't hire more full time teachers like him that can explain things clearly and is not pretentious towards his students. The course is interesting in that it's very self-motivated. When he assigns the labs, you can have two choices: You can take it easy and ask the person next to you who figured it out how he did it, or you can spend as long as it takes to actually figure it out completely by yourself. Which could take hours and hours. Either way, you'll definitely love this course if you like math and logic. Btw, aside from a little about binary code and memory storage, it has very little to do with "computers". The course is programming, which can be done on a piece of paper.
