05/18/20114931 - Kant's Critique4.24535YesHe is extremely knowledgeable and accessible. Being very friendly, young, and clear, it is a pleasure to be in his class. He also has an amazing skill of understanding precisely what students are asking, whereas in many classes, especially in philosophy classes, the questions often seem almost unintelligible. The workload is manageable- usually a few short papers and a comprehensive final. Students are expected to keep up with the readings (and it is also extremely helpful in order to understand what is going on in class). He tends to teach very philosophical and difficult subjects, so one should have a serious interest in whatever he is teaching, and some background in philosophy is helpful. His grading is extremely fair, but it is important to keep in mind the difficulty of the material itself- doing well, therefore, is not guaranteed. His specialty is also in Jewish Philosophy, so he is great at discussing the relationship between general/secular and Jewish philosophers, for those who are interested. Overall, highly highly recommended to the philosophically driven. YU and its students are privileged to have him.
