If you came to YU to learn, then take Dr. Kaplan. If you are lazy, narrow-minded or plan to skip class, take the older rabbis instead. If you don't work hard, you will not get higher than a "B" with Dr. Kaplan. [ 1/1 people found this rating helpful. ]

Kaplan is an eccentric teacher but inspite of this he is clear and interesting. the most important thing to do in his class is to make sure he gets to know you. you ahve to show him that you are intelligent and have the ability to understand what he is teaching. ask questions, make assessments...even challenge him. he is an honest guy so he will enjoy and reward this participation. don't slack off on studying for his tests. remember as much as you can and put down all the information you can sometimes abandoning essay continuity for breadth of information.
